Single Line Text (DTEXT) and the %%U Switch

(New for AutoCAD 2006)(14 Nov 2005)
For all you old blokes that are still using the single line text approach to drafting (DTEXT and TEXT commands) you will find it difficult to edit text that is underlined with the %%U switch. Why? Because it does not display the letters %%U when you edit the text. A work-around is this: Where the underlining begins type %%U again, this will work like a toggle and turn off/on the underlining.

\X and AutoCAD 2006 dimension editing

Step 5. Observe the results

Editing Vertical Place Text is difficult with AutoCAD 2006

(New for AutoCAD 2006)(14 Nov 2005)
This is one feature of the new "edit text in place" feature I do not like at all. Vertical text is harder to work with when it stays vertical on edit! Here are a couple of work-arounds:
For Mtext (multi-line text) set MTEXTED to OLDEDITOR
For Dtext (single-line text) set DTEXTED to 1

Slow Zooming in AutoCAD 2006

(New for AutoCAD 2006)(14 Nov 2005)
Many users don't like the new slow zooming transition on ZOOM extents. I don't either because it makes me feel sea sick. Set VTENABLE to 0 for no smooth view transitions. Also VTDURATION sets the duration of a smooth view transition, in milliseconds.
